Rules
Race Across Toronto rules
Short version: play fair, stay safe, respect the city and the people in it. The full rules below are agreed to at registration.
Teams and timing
- ✦Race solo or in a team of up to five participants. Every participant needs their own account and a ticket.
- ✦The race starts and ends at times announced by organizers on race day.
- ✦Submissions close when the race ends. Late submissions are not scored.
Scoring and proof
- ✦Points are earned only from submissions that pass review.
- ✦Follow the proof requirements on each challenge card exactly.
- ✦Photo and video challenges must show the team members the challenge requires.
- ✦A submission can be rejected or sent back for a resubmission.
Fair play
- ✦Do not reuse a photo or video across multiple challenges.
- ✦Do not submit another team's proof or content you did not capture that day.
- ✦Do not edit, stage, or fabricate proof.
- ✦Every submission is checked automatically first. If anything looks unclear or suspicious, a Race Across Toronto team member does a second review before a decision is made.
Safety
- ✦No running into traffic. Cross only at crosswalks and obey all signals.
- ✦No trespassing on private, restricted, or closed property.
- ✦Do not climb, hang from, or damage anything.
- ✦Follow all TTC rules and staff instructions.
- ✦Stop immediately if organizers pause the race.
- ✦Call 911 first in a real emergency, then notify event HQ.
Conduct in public
- ✦Never interfere with businesses, workers, or their customers.
- ✦Ask before photographing or filming anyone, and accept no as an answer.
- ✦Harassment, discrimination, and intimidation cause immediate disqualification.
- ✦Be respectful of residents and neighbourhoods you pass through.
Photo and video consent
- ✦Participants agree to a photo and video release at registration.
- ✦Project Noor may use race day content for recaps, social media, and event promotion.
- ✦Tell organizers at check-in if you do not want to appear in published content.
Disqualification
- ✦Cheating, falsified proof, unsafe behaviour, or harassment can end your race.
- ✦Organizers make the final call on all scoring and disqualification decisions.
- ✦Manual score changes are logged with the reason behind them.
Weather and cancellation
- ✦Organizers can pause, shorten, or cancel the race for weather or safety at any time.
- ✦If paused, stay where you are and follow the instructions shown on your dashboard.
- ✦If the event is cancelled outright, refund or transfer terms will be communicated by email.
Refunds
- ✦Refund and transfer windows will be published with ticket sales.
- ✦Tickets are transferable to another participant before race day.
- ✦No refunds for no-shows or mid-race withdrawals.
