FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I need a team to sign up?+

No. You can register solo, create a team, or join an existing team with its team code. Solo racers still get the full race experience.

How big is a team?+

One to five racers. Five is the maximum, and every racer needs their own account and their own registration details.

How much does it cost?+

$5 CAD per racer, or $20 CAD for a full team of five. Payment is by card on the registration page and a receipt is emailed to you right after.

How do I submit photos and challenge proof?+

From your dashboard on race day. Each challenge card has an upload button, so you take the photo or video on your phone and submit it in the challenge itself. Nothing is emailed or posted to social media.

Who reviews my submission?+

Every submission is reviewed automatically first, usually within seconds. If something is unclear or looks suspicious, a Race Across Toronto team member does a second review before the points are confirmed.

How fit do I need to be?+

This is a walk-and-transit race, not a running race. You control your pace, and challenges are designed to reward smart routing over speed.

Do I need a transit pass?+

Yes. Bring a loaded PRESTO card or transit fare. Transit costs are not included in your ticket.

Is it accessible?+

We collect accessibility requirements at registration and build alternate routes and challenge options where needed. Tell us what you need and we will work with you.

What happens in bad weather?+

Organizers can pause or stop the race at any time for safety. If the event is cancelled outright, refund terms in the event rules apply.

Are minors allowed?+

Yes. Racers under 16 must be supervised by a parent or guardian for the whole race, and a parent or guardian has to give consent and emergency contact details during registration.

When is race day?+

The date is being finalized and will be announced here and by email to everyone registered, well before the race.

Do you track my location all day?+

No. Location is only checked at specific challenges that need it, and only with your permission. Checkpoint QR codes do most of the verification.

Where does the money go?+

Ticket revenue first covers the cost of running the event, things like permits, safety, supplies and prizes. Anything left over goes to Project Noor as a donation to fund students, supporting school supplies, learning materials, tuition assistance, and the school we are building. Sponsor-funded challenge impact goes to Project Noor as well.
