Race day, step by step
Create your account
Every participant makes an account with emergency contact and waiver details. No anonymous entries.
Build or join a team
Create a team and become captain, then share your team code (for example RAT-4821) so teammates can join.
Get your ticket
Pay securely by card. Your confirmation, receipt, registration number, and team instructions arrive by email.
Check in on race day
Scan in at event HQ. Your team gets a number and a team QR code used at checkpoints all day.
Your route unlocks
At the official start, your assigned route unlocks. Routes differ by team, so the city never bottlenecks.
Complete challenges
Read the clue, get to the location, scan the checkpoint QR code, and complete the mission with your team.
Submit proof
Upload a photo, video, or answer straight from your phone. It is reviewed automatically within seconds.
Score and climb
Approved submissions add points. Watch your rank move on the live leaderboard until the final whistle.

How points work
Point values
Challenges are worth 50 to 300 points depending on difficulty, travel distance, and creativity required.
Bonuses
Secret missions, timed challenges, and full-route completion carry bonus points. Late submissions can carry penalties.
Verification
Every submission is reviewed automatically first. If anything is unclear or looks suspicious, a Race Across Toronto team member does a second review and can approve, reject, or request a resubmission.
